Brave Performance Gives Scots Hope Of Reaching Last 16

Scotland show fight to earn draw with Switzerland at Euro 2024

Brave performance gives Scots hope of reaching last 16

Scotland kept alive their hopes of reaching the last 16 at Euro 2024 with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in a gripping Group A game on Wednesday.

The Scots started brightly and took the lead through a stunning strike from John McGinn. However, Switzerland hit back just before half-time through a Breel Embolo header.

Scotland had chances to win the game in the second half, but they were unable to find a way past the Swiss defence. The result leaves Scotland in third place in Group A, two points behind Switzerland and Portugal. However, they still have a chance of reaching the last 16 if they can beat Portugal in their final group game.

Scotland manager Steve Clarke was pleased with his team's performance.

"I thought we were excellent tonight," he said. "We played with great intensity and commitment, and we created some good chances. We're disappointed not to win, but we're still in a good position to qualify for the last 16."

Scotland captain Andy Robertson was also proud of his team's performance.

"We showed great character tonight," he said. "We went behind, but we never gave up. We kept fighting until the end, and we deserved a point."

Scotland will now face Portugal in their final group game on Sunday. They need to win the game to have any chance of reaching the last 16.
